We are a Network of Diaspora led organisation within the UK. TPN promotes partnerships, encourage collaboration and strengthen Diaspora voice.
TPN is a network of Diaspora organisations and at present has over 200 UK diaspora groups of various sizes with a combined membership of over 27,000 members.
TPN is a direct result of collaborative efforts among the diverse organisations to create a sustainable Framework. The member organisations join together to build capacity and success in all areas including healthcare, entrepreneurship, community engagement, youth, knowledge and skills transfer, housing, ICT; just to mention a few. Idea sharing is encouraged through TPN Big Idea, Bigger Dreams workshops.
Each organisation within TPN is stand alone and has its own autonomy and governance structures. Together these organisations strengthen the Diaspora voice through representation in various forums with the government, public and private sectors. Knowledge and skills sets possessed by the member organisations are highlighted, and showcased.
The network has its core in the diaspora policy, which was launched in January 2015, as a guide on how Kenya relates to her diaspora. The need for formation of framework organisations is a prerequisite for better and smoother engagement, helps facilitate better communication, better partnerships and more collaborations. A year long membership campaign was launched in 2015 that resulted in TPN formation.
